Quickstart

You can get started instantly by installing one of our WordPress plugins and register for a full account later, however if you want a more bespoke integration or to use one of our other plugin types you will need to register on the cloud first.

Registration

Accounts in Web-Engine Cloud are managed via an email address. Our WordPress plugins can handle basic registration, however to fully register you will need to authenticate and setup a password on the Web-Engine Cloud site. You can only use basic features within our plugins without formerly registering with our cloud services and setting a password.

If you are registering a plugin it is important to use the same email address for registration as we will match the installation to the account this way. You can register as many sites as and services as you like, these will be presented to you in the dashboard on Web-Engine cloud when you login there.

Registration will involve verification via your email address with an authentication code, this is to ensure that this is definitely your address and that you can receive communications from us. It is important to ensure this address is white-listed to ensure you can get account notifications from us. Communication preferences can also be managed from Admin » Communications. The WordPress variations of our plugins also make it easy to opt in or out of the channels we offer.

Before you can make requests to the our API's, you will need to add your domain to the cloud, this can be done by visiting the product page and adding a domain. For example, to add Sentry to your domain, visit Sentry » Add domain - instructions are given there for the different options available. More detailed plugin specific documentation is also provided on the product specific documentation pages.

Teams

We appreciate every users needs are different, for example you may have one site and be one developer, or have many sites and a team of hundreds of developers. We’ve tried to make our services as flexible as possible and as a primary account handler, once registered you can add as many domains as you want and as many team members as you need. Trams can be linked to domains and members of the teams can be granted roles.

Because we allow for a multi-user, multi-site account, usage is tracked under one subscription - so you won’t be charged for extra for sites and users.

Team members can have one of four roles -

  • Administrator - can perform any action, including managing financials.
  • Developer - can carry out technical functions.
  • Editor - can use standard functions.
  • Reporter - can see usage reports only.

The specific role requirements for each product and service are listed on their corresponding pages.

Since the services work across multiple sites and teams you can also centralise costs helping to provide cost effective and reliable services across all deployments.
